You just got your wedding photos back and you are ecstatic – you absolutely love them! You share them on social media and maybe even set one as your phone’s wallpaper. But wait wait wait, let’s talk about something people often forgot about: backing your wedding photos up properly. Let’s dive into some tips for storing and backing up your photos so they can be safe forever!

Use Multiple Storage Devices

Back up your wedding photos in at least three places. Three great options are your computer, USB drive, and an external hard drive. This way you’ll be covered if one device crashes or gets damaged.

Print Your Photos

Another great way to preserve your photos is to… print them! Photo albums and framed prints are a wonderful way to revisit memories often and ensure physical photos remain even if a computer or hard drive fails.

Back Up Your Photos to the Cloud

Thirdly, Cloud storage adds a vital layer of off-site protection to your photos. Some services I recommend are Google Drive, Dropbox, and iCloud! Keep your photos safe and accessible by looking into one of these Cloud services.

Don't Rely on Social Media

Lastly, don’t reply on social media for photo quality. Photos from past Facebook posts can be compressed from the platform, which destroys their quality. Downloading and enlarging photos from social media might make them appear pixelated or blurry.

In Conclusion

Your wedding photos are more than just files - they're memories of one of the most meaningful days of your life. Taking a little time to back them up and store them well ensures you'll always have them to look back on, share with your loved ones, and treasure for years to come.
